Welcome Everybody

Hello - Welcome. The purpose of this site is to document my experiences photographing wildlife and nature throughout Australia and abroad.  I hope you find the content interesting and educational, and the images  cause you to reflect on how important it is preserve natural places and their inhabitants.

All wildife has been photographed in the wild and animals are NOT captive or living in enclosures.

For me photography of the natural world is more than just pretty settings and cuddly animal photos. It's a concern for the environment and the earth all living creatures must share.

Note that images appearing in journal posts are often not optimally processed due to time constraints.

You are welcome to comment on any post.

Bozeman - Gateway to Yellowstone NP, Montana

Traveling from Utah (Canyonlands) to Bozeman, Montana was a long stretch of driving. The temperatures dropped as we traveled north, before the mercury eventually settled on 17F (-8C). Accommodation could not be found in many towns due to the accommodation being taken by participants in events such as wrestling championships and cheer leader competitions (don't ask). Eventually, after driving a further hour or so, a hotel was discovered in Idaho Falls, Idaho at 0200! Arising the next day after 0900 (after sleeping heavily for 8 hours or so) we departed for Bozeman.

The scenery from the highway from West Yellowstone to Bozeman was outstanding; snow scapes, frozen rivers, conifers and birch laden with now and ice - simply beautiful. If an iconic image can be held of USA in the grips of winter, then this surely would be it.

Image processing has been slow due to the need for sucking up the miles to be able to reach Yellowstone on the allotted time. Hopefully, I'll have a few spare moment to process a few images to add to this blog, however, I thought writing as few points here and there to be more important than image processing.
